NOWICKI GREGORY ILICH (? — CA. 1720)

The author of "a Brief description of the Ostyak people". The pupil Kyiv-Mohyla Acad., N. he was a Colonel, probably one regiment with his father. During Mazepa's treason, brother-in-law Orlik moved to the side of the Hetman was made "resident" of the Grand crown Hetman Sinyavsky. (nee. Lavrov) (10 (22).11.1861, Cannes, France — 1951, Leningrad)

Russian publisher, writer, translator. He studied at the Bestuzhev courses. Worked in children's magazines "Spring" and "Children's reading", together with A. A. ZHITKOV, BORIS MIKHAILOVICH(1872-1943)

Soviet zoologist and biogeographer, hunters, writer. Professor of Moscow state University (1919) and Petrovskaya agricultural Academy (1921). Author popular science books "the life of the forest", "bird migration".

SLAVIN, VLADIMIR ALEKSANDROVICH(1818-1895)

Member of the Board of the Minister of agriculture and state property, ethnographer. The author of the book "the Samoyeds in domestic and public life" (1847), written after a trip to the far North (on behalf of the Ministry of agriculture and state property). In 1848 in the Sovremennik magazine published the Story of the wanderings to the tundra Samoyed in 1844 and 1845" (Contemporary. — 1848. — Vol. 8, No. 4. — S. 79-95; Vol. 9, No. 5. — Pp. 1-15.

 

PUZYKOVICH THEOPHILUS, TEOFILOVIC(1846-1899)

Russian writer. Graduate St. Petersburg University (1866). About 20 years was a city teacher. The author of numerous books: "Brotherly word", "Our homeland, "a short Russian story", "Russian spelling Lessons", "Russian alphabet", " Russian-Slavic ABC", "Practical Russian grammar, and Geography for elementary schools, "a Short course of Russian grammar for prep class medium training institutions", "Russian recipe". They made about 20 of illustrated booklets under the General title "Bible stories", and about 40 brochures on Ethnography, published in the series "From Ethnology".

Interesting fact:
